Company Branding: Benchmark Dirt Worx
Firebrand Creative Studios was commissioned by Benchmark Dirt Worx, a new excavation and site contractor, to create their company branding: everything from the logo that would anchor their brand identity, to their website, apparel, email signatures, and business cards. We wanted to provide everything their team would need to grow and market their new business!
INDUSTRY RESEARCH
We began by learning about the customer’s core service offerings and methods for fulfilling these services. Next, we researched similar brands in their industry, examining a couple of things: what does common branding look like among competitors, and what are the typical tools and equipment these companies generally have on hand?
Now that we knew more about our customer’s dream and what some of their competition says and does, we began the task of developing initial brand designs for our customer.
BRAND CONCEPTION
As with most things, the initial designs were far from the finished product, but we included elements of the company equipment, references to the owner and portions of his personal interests, and background that connected to the budding business.
You might note in these early ideas that the name hadn’t been fully finalized yet either. As we continued the initial design work, the customer continued fleshing out their final company name. We assisted the customer as desired in this process and offered feedback on name ideas from a creative and marketing standpoint, not only working through what would look the best as their brand identity, but also what would communicate well to their potential customers.
As we continued to develop our understanding of the customer and even their new business, we continued working with their feedback and the information they were sharing to create a brand identity that would represent them and the company the way they were envisioning.
Once the name was finalized, the logo design really began coming together. We landed a color palate and were on track for a final logo design. Since we now had colors and overall design layout, we needed to polish the design using their feedback to land the final logo.
FINAL LOGO, BUT JUST THE START
With a bit more feedback, we were able to deliver the final logo you see here. With a final logo in hand, we could now work on building a website, producing apparel and other branded goods for their team members to use!
